NVQ Plumbing Level 1
Plumbing Course NVQ Level 1 Aim
A Plumbing NVQ level qualification is for individuals who want to learn the fundamentals in home plumbing with a view to gaining a trainee placement.
What is in an NVQ Plumbing Course level 1:
The course looks at the theories as well as the practical aspects of household plumbing. As a level 1 student you will obtain the necessary skills required for pipe bending and jointing, along with the fundamental basics of plumbing systems design and installation. All domestic aspects of plumbing, coupled with covering health and safety will be learned in this course.
What are the Modules?
The following modules can be found in the Plumbing NVQ level 1 course
- Learning how to Work Safely
- Basic safety regulations.
- Installing and testing pipe systems materials and components
- laying out, assembling, fabricating, maintaining and repairing piping systems
- Gutters and rainwater pipes
- Sanitary ware installation.
- Provide learners with skills in the installation principles of sanitary systems
- Install and connect household appliances.
- Household appliances such as washing machines or dishwashers.
- Installation of outside taps
- Fixing blockages of sinks and drainage systems.
How long is the NVQ in plumbing course
The NVQ plumbing level 1 takes around 15 weeks to complete.
How is the NVQ in plumbing course assessed?
As you take the training course you will be assessed by a qualified assessor in practical exercises, being observed by the assessor and by demonstrating you are competent to a certain standard.
What can you do after you complete the Plumbing NVQ level 1
By completing the NVQ level 1 you should be able to work in the plumbing trade as a trainee and be ready to move to the next stage in training and your career. You will be able to begin the NVQ Level 2 plumbing course.
